The word Thank You Vivint is not sufficient or appropiate to express my gratitude. Thanks for protecting my home. I love your system.

I know that ADT Security is going to be effective if anybody ever tries to get into my home uninvited, and the reason I’m sure it works is because it has worked to keep people safely IN my house! I have mischievous and adventurous kids as well as a sleepwalking husband, and the alarm has alerted me more than once when someone was on the verge of leaving.

I’m a big fan of preventive measures, so I’m thinking the “ADT Security” sign in my yard and stickers on my windows might be the most effective piece of the security I’m paying for. Of course, the only reason that sticker is such an effective deterrent is because of the reputation ADT has built over the years. If anyone actually tried to break in now, they’d be certifiably stupid.

This company can seriously scam you if you don’t pay attention to details or fine print. For one thing, you’re supposed to have a window of time to cancel if you’re not satisfied after getting things set up. Something went wrong with the shipping of my equipment and it was bouncing around in postal limbo for a while, so I went ahead and signed with another company that could get me set up right away. When my Protect America equipment (finally, belatedly) arrived, I called to say I was taking […]

Wait a minute, how did I just “automatically” end up with another three year LifeShield contract I didn’t want? Apparently this service automatically renews your contract without your permission if you don’t specifically tell them you don’t want to renew. I’m going back to look at the fine print on the original contract, because that’s no way to run a company. I’ve been planning to switch when this contract ran out because I keep having issues with the equipment, and now I’m looking at another three years. Not happy.

I find myself wondering how Protect America manages to provide the level of one-on-one attention to their customers that they do! Maybe it’s because it would cost even more man-hours to send out a professional installer to all their clients’ homes, but I was still impressed at the time their service representative spent on the phone with me, walking me through the installation process. It’s even nicer that I didn’t have to pay anyone to do the installation, or wait around waiting for them to show up. With the help […]

When I ran into technical trouble with my keypad, I assumed it was “user error,” but the tech on the phone couldn’t figure out how to fix it either. That sentence might sound like the beginning of a complaint, but it’s actually not. The tech shipped me a new keypad that same day, along with a prepaid shipping label so I could send the defective one back. I didn’t even have to wait for the turn around time; they trusted me to send the old one back to them, and […]

I love the ability to check everything about my Life Shield security system just by opening an app on my phone or tablet. Combined with the remote button that fits on my keychain, this system is super easy to use. I remember the old school alarm system my parents used to have, and it seems almost laughable now. Imagine my dad’s surprise when I was over at their house and got online to show him how I could check the video feed and alarm status at my house across town. […]

“Simon Says” has become our new household joke. If you don’t already have Protect America equipment, you won’t find that funny until you meet the “Simon XT control panel” that acts like the heart and the brain of the system. Simon says our family is definitely safe these days, thanks to motion detectors and sensors and a quick response time from the monitoring center. Simon even talks to our cell phones when we’re not home, thanks to the downloadable app that helps us keep tabs on our home.

In my last house I used a different security company, and they drilled holes in my walls and ran wires everywhere. When I moved to my current house I took a neighbor’s recommendation and called Vivint Security. I love the fact that the system is wireless (not even a phone line hookup, because it uses a cell signal) and the entire installation went smoothly without the sight of a drill. Awesome.
