As a result, everyone needs some type of home surveillance system to protect themselves, their property and their loved ones. Here’s the overview breakdown with the pros and cons of each system we discuss in this guide.
This product is a Google product with all the high-tech programming that Google is known for but has recently been acquired by Nest. Check Out their Facebook.
This is a camera that you purchase outright for approximately $200 (Amazon price). This means no monthly fees, monitoring fees or contracts to use it as you wish.
This is your only monthly expense. When compared to other security systems, this is a drop in the bucket. None-the-less, if you have 4 cameras, the price is $39.80 a month for Cloud Recording.
Of the professionally monitored security systems, FrontPoint has the highest customer satisfaction rating plus a continuous A+ Better Business Rating for more than 30 years.
Because there is no need to attach equipment to the building, this wireless security service is a great option for:

With ADT as the parent company, Protect America has sufficient financial backing to ensure that they will not be going out of business any time soon. That said, they only have a Better Business Bureau rating of A- due to the comparatively high customer complaints. Some customers have informed BBB that it takes a long time to get resolution.
They have 9.442 followers on Facebook and comments seem to be mostly “thank you for getting my system running again”. That may indicate that there are lots of customers with system problems or that they have good tech support.

Evaluating LifeShield’s quality of equipment and service is difficult since the monitoring is outsourced to Guardian Protection Services. LifeShield is not accredited with Better Business Bureau and their Facebook page has ~25,000 likes.

ADT has been around as a national security service far longer than any other company and as a result, has more subscribers than any other service.
If you want to know what ADT’s actual customers say about the company, read the public posts on their Facebook page. Customer reviews on paid sites are commonly censored or written by professional writers instead of actual customers.
Taken as a whole, ADT must be doing something right to have remained in business for so many years.
ADT Service Plans
This company is essentially the new kid on the block when it comes to hard wired security systems with professional installation and monitoring. Part of their equipment is made by AT&T and other parts come from the England plant for UTI.
According to their customer’s comments on their Facebook page, it seems that they are still working out the kinks of enough trained installers, customer service reps that are trained properly and lack of company resolution support teams. The new owner of this company is a very exceptional business man and will, no doubt, get these issues ironed out at some point.
Vivint Security uses the same base contract as ADT and borrows the same policies for service without the manpower to enact it smoothly. You must own the property where you want the system installed. An analog (land line) telephone connection is necessary for the fire alarm system to work properly.
**May offer service in areas that ADT does not.

The following chart boils it all down to help you make a knowledgeable choice (whether it is wise depends on the results). It is recommended that you tweak the options to fit your needs more closely rather than use any single recommendation as if it came down from “on high”. Please note, that Renter should be the category used if you are in military service on active duty even if you own your home.
